Temperature & pH
Choose the quantity to measure, then the instrument and mounting format. Temperature, pH, a protective thermowell and loose mounting hardware are separate purchases with different operating and care requirements.
Buying advice & FAQ ↓Choosing temperature & ph
What changes the purchase?
Loose, clipped or fixed thermometers
The IN-025 is a glass thermometer. The two CRBrewBeer dials use kettle-rim clips, while the FERRODAY dial uses a male 1/2 NPT connection with listed mounting hardware. Compare the actual measurement point, stem access and vessel fitting. Stem length alone is not a minimum immersion depth or whole-instrument water rating.
Compare pH kits by replaceability and supplies
Milwaukee MW102 has a separate SE220 electrode and temperature probe. Apera PH20 is a pocket tester with a fixed sensor and two included buffers. Extech PH100 has a replaceable flat electrode and 15-reading memory, but calibration buffers are separate. Display resolution and an accuracy claim should be read with their stated conditions.
Identify passive parts and maintenance needs
The Yosoo thermowell is an empty probe pocket; it has no sensor or display. The Field’s Hobby kit supplies a washer, nut and O-ring, not a thermometer. For pH equipment, compare included buffers, calibration and model-specific storage requirements. No meter is treated as calibration-free or automatically suitable for boiling wort.
Questions before choosing
Will a thermowell display the temperature?
No. It is a passive pocket for a separate compatible probe and measuring instrument.
Are calibration buffers included with all three pH meters?
The selected MW102 and PH20 show two buffer supplies. The PH100 buffers are a separate purchase.
Does a long stem tell me how deep the whole instrument may go?
No. Check the actual immersion and mounting instructions, including the position of the dial or meter body.
