The equipment in use

How this item fits your brewing setup

This FERRODAY mounts through a compatible kettle port or fitting rather than hanging from a rim clip. The connection is male1/2 NPT. Match the thread designation and the actual installation; the nominal half-inch label is not a promise of a half-inch measured outside diameter or fit to every kettle.

The short probe is intended for a wall-port arrangement, so check how far it will reach beyond your wall and fitting. The exact exposed reach is not confirmed. A thick fitting can change whether the sensing part reaches the liquid, even when the thread itself matches.

The white dial has black Fahrenheit and Celsius markings, stated as 0–220°F and−10–100°C. Read the unit your process uses. Confirm the actual dial clearance if the port sits close to a handle or valve; exact outer dimensions are not settled here.

The selected contents include the thermometer, silicone O-rings, hex nut and metal washer. FERRODAY specifies stainless 304 for the metal construction and shows a calibration screw. The dial edge is explicitly not waterproof: keep that part out of water, even though the probe is intended to contact the sample. Compare the rim-clip pack for a removable arrangement without a fixed port.

Before and during use

Advice for this reference

Before you choose

Match the actual port, thread, wall thickness and probe reach before selecting a fixed thermometer.

Also check

Check dial clearance around handles and valves rather than relying on the 3 in title alone.

Documented use & care

Hand wash only, according to the selected care field.

Do not submerge the dial edge; the supplier explicitly says it is not waterproof.

Connections & scope

Fit and useful limits

  • Confirm the probe’s usable reach and the space needed for the dial before fitting it to your vessel. The nominal title and dimension graphic give different measurements.
  • Supplied seals/nut do not establish universal weldless fit or a verified pressure rating.
  • No instant/three-second response, numerical accuracy tolerance, leakproof or lifetime corrosion guarantee.
  • No fixed boiling-water calibration target or screw adjustment amount is prescribed here.

Questions about this product

What else should you know?

Does 1/2 NPT mean the thread measures exactly half an inch outside?

It is the fitting designation. Match a documented compatible port rather than choosing by a half-inch ruler measurement alone.

Can I soak the whole dial because the metadata says waterproof?

No. The explicit supplier instruction says the glass dial edge is not waterproof and must not be submerged.

Will the supplied nut and rings make any kettle compatible?

No universal fit is established. Confirm the wall, port geometry, sealing arrangement and resulting probe reach for the actual vessel.
