Bottling & closures
Match the bottle finish and closure first, then choose the tool’s working format. Bench, wing and hammer-style crown cappers differ from a cork-insertion press, and a bottling kit may still need transfer equipment.
Buying advice & FAQ ↓Choosing bottling & closures
What changes the purchase?
Compare crown-capper support and operation
The Colt Strong has a column-mounted adjustable head and a base with fixing holes; its selected format is 26 mm crowns and mounting screws are separate. Super Agata is another adjustable bench format, with its own instructions. Red Baron is a handheld two-lever wing capper, not a bench stand.
Keep closure and bottle fit specific
The 144-pack supplies 26 mm pry-off crowns, excluding twist-off bottles. Matching that nominal format is one check; confirm the actual bottle finish and tool requirements too. The North Mountain hammer-style capper is a separate mechanism whose maker prefers a rubber mallet, without a mallet established in the package.
Distinguish corking and complete bottling contents
The TBVECHI press inserts wine corks with its two POM guides; it is not a crown capper, and accepted cork dimensions still need confirmation. Craft a Brew’s kit supplies ten 12 oz amber bottles, a handheld capper and 30-plus crowns. No siphon, hose, filler or priming ingredient is established as included.
Questions before choosing
Is the Red Baron a small bench capper?
No. The selected reference is a handheld wing capper with two levers, without a column or bolt-down base.
Can the silver crown pack be used on twist-off bottles?
The selected 26 mm pry-off pack expressly excludes twist-off bottles.
Does the Craft a Brew bottling kit include the transfer line?
No siphon, hose or bottle filler is established in the selected kit. Plan those parts separately if needed.
