Equipment by its job
Find the missing function.
Start with the operation. Then compare the actual part, its contents and the connections around it.
Kettles & mash tuns ↗
Choose the vessel for its brewing task, working volume and supplied fittings. A stainless boiling kettle and an insulated cooler-based mash tun serve different stages; nominal capacity alone does not describe a complete setup.

Grain mills ↗
Choose a malt crusher by its roller arrangement, hopper and supporting mount. Both mills include a hand crank; neither should be treated as a freestanding flour appliance or a complete powered milling system.

Mash & hop tools ↗
Choose the operation before the accessory: mix grain, contain an addition, spread incoming sparge water or screen a vessel outlet. Paddles, hop containers, diffusers and outlet hardware do not replace one another.

Wort chillers ↗
Choose whether wort stays in the kettle around an immersion coil or passes through an external chiller. That decision changes the connections, transfer equipment and surfaces you must clean.

Fermentation vessels ↗
Compare access, material, outlet and supplied closure before choosing a fermentation vessel. A wide-access bucket, narrow-neck jug, conical assembly and vented dispensing container solve different handling and storage needs.

Airlocks & vessel parts ↗
Match a closure to the actual vessel and job. An airlock, drilled stopper, solid lid, port cap and lid opener are separate parts; a shared gallon label or brand name does not make their interfaces interchangeable.

Gravity & sampling ↗
Choose a measuring method and the equipment needed around it. A floating hydrometer, optical refractometer, wireless sensor, sample thief and test jar perform different parts of the measurement task.

Temperature & pH ↗
Choose the quantity to measure, then the instrument and mounting format. Temperature, pH, a protective thermowell and loose mounting hardware are separate purchases with different operating and care requirements.

Siphons & transfer ↗
Choose the missing part of the transfer: intake, tubing, support or bottle-end control. A cane positions the intake, a filling wand controls liquid at the bottle, and a clip or valve has its own separate role.

Bottling & closures ↗
Match the bottle finish and closure first, then choose the tool’s working format. Bench, wing and hammer-style crown cappers differ from a cork-insertion press, and a bottling kit may still need transfer equipment.

Rinsing & drying ↗
Choose the operation and container: rinse a bottle, drain bottles, collect drips or support an inverted carboy. A reservoir rinser, tap-fed station, rack, tree, tray and carboy stand provide different parts of that workflow.

Cleaning & handling ↗
Choose the access or handling job first: scrub a carboy, clean bottle and airlock passages, support a glass vessel or pour through a funnel. These tools add physical access and support, without supplying a cleaning chemical or a complete transfer system.
