Milwaukee MW102 Portable pH Meter with Separate Probes

A portable pH meter with a separate SE220 electrode and temperature probe, rather than an all-in-one pocket tester.

The equipment in use

How this item fits your brewing setup

The MW102 keeps the display in your hand while its cabled electrode sits in the sample. The supplied SE220 is a gel-filled, double-junction pH electrode with a BNC connection. Choose this layout when replaceable external probes and room to position the display matter more than an all-in-one pen.

The meter declares 0.01 pH resolution and±0.02 pH accuracy at 25°C. Its stated display range is −2.00 to 16.00 pH; that is a meter specification, not a promise that every attached electrode covers the same extremes. The temperature probe provides the input for automatic temperature compensation when used with the pH electrode.

The selected package photographs show the meter, pH electrode, separate temperature probe, pH 4.01 and 7.01 buffer sachets and a 9 V battery. Calibration is automatic at one or two points. The manual uses the°C key to show temperature before returning to pH, a different display arrangement from a pen showing both readings together.

Include electrode care in the purchase decision. Milwaukee directs storage with a few drops of its electrode storage solution in the protective cap, and reactivation if the tip has dried. Compare the PH20 for a self-contained pocket format, or the PH100 for a replaceable flat electrode and saved readings.

Advice for this reference

Before you choose

Compare separate replaceable probes with an integrated pocket tester when considering long-term maintenance.

Also check

Check the exact supplied temperature-probe identifier before ordering a replacement or relying on its thermal range.

Documented use & care

Store the electrode with a few drops of the maker’s electrode storage solution in the protective cap.

If the tip dries, follow the maker’s reactivation procedure before measuring.

Rinse and calibrate according to the actual probe instructions; no invented cleaning dose or sample-temperature limit is supplied.

Connections & scope

Fit and useful limits

  • Confirm the supplied temperature probe and its operating range if you need temperature readings or automatic temperature compensation across a particular range. The current product information gives conflicting details.
  • No fixed 300/750-hour battery-life promise, kit mass, case inclusion or whole-meter immersion permission established.
  • Meter display span and electrode operating limits remain separate; no boiling-wort pH measurement permission.

Questions about this product

What else should you know?

Do I still need the temperature probe for compensated pH measurements?

The manual uses it with the pH electrode for ATC. The separate temperature sensor is part of that arrangement, not an optional value inferred from the room temperature.

Does the meter show pH and temperature simultaneously?

The maker’s instructions use the°C key to display temperature and return to pH. Compare the dual-value pocket displays if that layout matters to you.

Can I replace the pH electrode independently?

The supplied SE220 is an external BNC-connected electrode. Choose a documented compatible replacement rather than replacing it with any probe that merely looks similar.
