How this item fits your brewing setup
This three-piece kit supplies the retaining and sealing parts for mounting a compatible thermometer or thermowell through a vessel wall. Choose it when the missing parts are a washer, nut and O-ring. It is not a thermometer, a temperature sensor or a complete bulkhead with a long threaded body.
The kit contains a 304 stainless steel washer, a stainless steel 1/2 NPT nut and an O-ring. The source places the washer outside the kettle and the nut and O-ring inside. Check that the instrument has the appropriate thread and enough usable threaded length for your vessel wall and these parts.
The source calls for PTFE thread tape where the nut meets the thermometer or thermowell. Tape is an additional supply rather than one of the three pictured pieces. Correct joint geometry still matters: the kit does not establish a universal hole diameter, permitted wall thickness or tightening torque.
A threaded kettle port may already provide the mounting arrangement you need, in which case a loose nut-and-washer kit may add nothing. Compare the Yosoo pocket if you also need a separate probe housing, or a complete dial thermometer if you need a reading; neither instrument is included here.

Is this useful for every 1/2 NPT kettle port?
No universal fit is established. A port that already provides a suitable threaded mount may not need this loose mounting set.
Does the red O-ring mean it is silicone?
Its material is not identified. Check the supplied seal specification if material or temperature compatibility matters.
Is there a threaded stem in the kit?
No. The stem comes from the compatible thermometer or thermowell you are mounting.
