The equipment in use
The Silver Serpent cools the wort while it remains in the kettle. Water runs through the stainless coil instead of wort being transferred through a hidden internal passage. Choose this arrangement when you want to handle and clean the outside of the coil directly after the brewing session.
Its distinctive connection layout angles the water leads down outside the kettle. Barbed fittings and hose clamps are supplied, and the selected reference arrives assembled with tubing. That layout is intended to keep the water connections outside the vessel; it is not proof that leaks or hose kinks are impossible.
The written fit dimensions are 9 in wide and 16 in tall to the bend. Check the kettle opening, liquid level and space around the connections. If clearance is tight, confirm the complete assembled envelope rather than treating the height to the bend as the height of every attached part.
The source describes placing the clean coil in the kettle before the boil finishes. Follow the supplied preparation instructions without assuming a guaranteed sterilization result or a universal timing rule. Compare the copper Clover for its different material and clover-shaped coil, or the Anvil for a stainless coil supplied with a separate hose length and fittings.

Questions about this product
This immersion arrangement carries cooling water through the coil while wort remains outside it in the kettle.
Confirm the tubing length for this selected offer. The dimensions of the separately sold 50 ft version do not tell you the length of this coil.
Not necessarily. Check the actual faucet and adapter requirement before choosing the water hookup.
