The equipment in use
This Concord set is the 20 US qt / 5 US gal nominal kettle, with a thermometer, drain valve and lid shown in the product views. Choose it for the smaller vessel format rather than assuming a larger stockpot is necessary. Nominal capacity is not the same as a five-gallon finished-beer yield.
Concord gives the pot body as 11 in wide and 11.5 in high. Those dimensions exclude the extra space needed around handles, the dial and the outlet. Check both the supporting heat source and the complete assembled clearance before choosing it for a confined brewing area.
The pre-drilled kettle is shipped for assembly, and the weldless fittings can be removed for cleaning. The lid can hang at the side of the vessel. Concord specifies 304 stainless for the included accessories; that statement does not identify the alloy of every part of the pot body.
Compare the Gas One BS-64 for substantially more nominal vessel capacity. Compare the Brewsie 10 gal set if a false bottom and bazooka screen are useful additions to the kettle itself. No burner or automatic heating control is supplied with this Concord reference, and the supplier’s short assembly-time claim is not a guaranteed setup time.
