The equipment in use
This UP100 set combines the main parts of a filtered kettle outlet: an internal bazooka screen, a weldless bulkhead through the wall, a manual ball valve and an external hose barb. Choose it when those parts are missing from a suitable vessel, rather than when you only need to replace a standalone screen.
The listed contents are one 12 in screen with 1/2 NPT connection, one 1/2 in weldless bulkhead, one 1/2 in two-piece ball valve, and one 1/2 MPT by 1/2 in hose barb. Two-piece describes the valve construction; it does not mean two valves are supplied. The barb designation is distinct from the pipe thread designation.
The supplier specifies a 7/8 in vessel hole for installation. Check wall shape, thickness, internal clearance for the screen and the vessel manufacturer’s requirements before deciding whether your kettle is a suitable host. Weldless means this joint does not require welding; it does not mean every vessel is already ready to accept it.
The lever provides manual outlet control, without a pump or automatic transfer function. PTFE sealing tape is mentioned for assembly but is not in the four-assembly contents. Compare the Brewsie kettle if you need the vessel as well as filtering and outlet hardware, rather than converting a suitable kettle you already own.
