How this item fits your brewing setup

This Quick Fit assembly uses a 10 gal Igloo cooler as an insulated mash tun. Choose it for holding the grain-and-water mash and draining wort through a false bottom. It is a different type of vessel from the stainless boiling kettles in this catalogue: no burner or built-in heater is supplied.

The stated assembly includes a 12 in stainless false bottom, ball-valve outlet and 3 in dial thermometer. The thermometer probe is described as extending 6 in into the mash. That local dial lets you read at its position without repeatedly opening the lid; it does not establish uniform temperature at every point or automatic temperature regulation.

The output barb is specified as 1/2 in. Check the actual hose and attachment arrangement before planning the transfer. The cooler’s nominal 10 gal capacity is not a verified grain-weight limit or a promise of ten gallons of finished beer for every recipe.

Stainless fittings are combined with an insulated cooler body. The exact 304 or 316 alloy is not assigned to each metal part, so confirm that detail if it determines your cleaning process. Compare the Brewsie set for a stainless kettle with filtering parts, or a larger kettle when boiling-vessel capacity is the actual need.

Also check

Check actual hose fit, grain-and-water volume and the supplied vessel temperature instructions.

Connections & scope

Fit and useful limits

  • No built-in heating, dual wired probes, guaranteed one-hour heat retention or uniform mash temperature.
  • Generic 212°F thermometer metadata is not a permitted temperature for the entire cooler. No exact stainless grade assigned to individual fittings.

Questions about this product

What else should you know?

Will this heat strike water for me?

No heater is supplied. The reference is an insulated mash vessel, rather than a heated water source.

Does the dial automatically correct the mash temperature?

No. It gives a local analog reading, without a control or heating function.

Can I substitute it directly for a boiling kettle?

It is a cooler-based mash tun. Select a suitable boiling vessel for that separate stage and follow the supplied vessel instructions.
