How this item fits your brewing setup

This FastRack bucket is the straightforward choice when you want wide access and a tap on the same vessel. Removing the lid opens the full bucket mouth for filling or reaching the interior. The spigot then provides an outlet for gravity transfer or bottling, instead of requiring liquid to be poured from the rim.

The selected package contains one nominal 6.5-gallon bucket, a white lid and a spigot. The supplier identifies the bucket as food-grade HDPE and BPA-free. Its lid has a drilled grommet for a suitable airlock, but the airlock is explicitly excluded in the gallery. Add a compatible one if you intend to use the bucket for an airlocked fermentation.

Compare it with a clear vessel if watching the liquid through the wall matters to you. The opaque bucket instead emphasizes an open top and simple access to the contents. Compare a plain bucket-and-carboy pair if you plan two separate vessels; this item is one bucket with a tap, not that paired workflow.

The supplier says the bottling spigot can be disassembled for cleaning. That matters because the outlet adds wetted parts beyond the bucket wall. Match your transfer hose to the actual tap outlet and allow room below it for your receiving vessel. The nominal bucket capacity is not a promise that every recipe can ferment to that level without extra space.

Advice for this reference

Before you choose

Add an airlock according to the drilled-lid fitting if fermenting, rather than assuming one is in the box.

Also check

Choose a clear fermenter if an unobstructed view through the vessel wall is more important than bucket access.

Documented use & care

Disassemble the spigot for cleaning as described by the supplier; follow the supplied assembly instructions when refitting it. No hot-cleaning cycle for every part is established.

Connections & scope

Fit and useful limits

  • The bucket graphic’s 190°F statement is not used as a verified temperature limit for the complete lid, grommet and tap assembly.
  • No pressure-fermentation or universal hose-size compatibility is established.

Questions about this product

What else should you know?

What else do I need to use the drilled lid for fermentation?

A suitable airlock is not included. Match the airlock stem to the supplied grommet before starting your fermentation setup.

Can I bottle directly through the spigot?

The tap provides a gravity outlet. Check the actual outlet connection and choose suitable tubing or filling equipment for the way you plan to control each bottle.

Why choose a clear fermenter instead?

A clear wall lets you see the liquid without removing the lid. This opaque bucket offers a different benefit: wide access when the lid is removed.
