How this item fits your brewing setup

The ProFiller is for the bottling stage, when a transfer line is already bringing beer or wine from the fermenter. Its springless tip and sliding clip offer a different way to control filling from a conventional wand that must be pressed against the bottle bottom. Consider it when you want to support the wand at the bottle neck and interrupt the flow between bottles.

The clear tube lets you see liquid moving through the wand. Fermtech’s instructions show the connector attached to 5/16-inch internal-bore siphon hose, with the wand lowered into the bottle. Raising it slightly reduces the flow; sliding the clip down interrupts filling. Those controls are useful to understand before choosing a hands-free format: you still need to watch the bottle and manage the transfer.

Treat this as the filling end of your transfer setup. Plan for a separate siphon or suitable feed and tubing; the wand does not start the transfer by itself. Compare the spring-loaded Home Brew Ohio wand if you prefer a bottom-contact filling valve to the ProFiller clip format.

For cleaning and use, Fermtech specifies a non-alcohol-based sanitizer and a maximum temperature of 120°F/49°C. This makes it a bottling tool for cooled liquid rather than a way to transfer boiling wort. Match the hose bore and check that the bottle neck can accommodate the wand and clip before preparing a full bottling session.

Advice for this reference

Before you choose

Compare the operating method with a bottom-contact spring filler; choose the control you prefer for moving from bottle to bottle.

Also check

Measure the internal hose bore rather than its outside diameter. The maker product page also describes a tapered connector for 3/8 in hose; confirm your actual hose connection rather than assuming every nominal size fits.

Documented use & care

Use the non-alcohol-based sanitizer and 120°F/49°C temperature limit specified in the Fermtech instruction sheet.

Connections & scope

Fit and useful limits

  • A supplied pump assembly and automatic detection of a chosen liquid level are not established. Confirm the package if either is essential.
  • Watch the fill and use the wand/clip controls; hands-free positioning does not mean unattended bottling.

Questions about this product

What else should you know?

Will this start a siphon from the fermenter?

It is the bottle-filling end of the line. Choose an auto-siphon or another suitable feed separately if you need equipment to start the transfer.

Should I buy tubing by its outside diameter?

The instruction sheet specifies 5/16 in / 8 mm internal bore. Check that bore and the connection on the actual wand; an outside-diameter label describes a different measurement.

How is filling paused while I move to the next bottle?

Fermtech shows lifting the wand to reduce the flow and sliding the clip down to interrupt it. Learn that action with your setup before filling a batch.
