The equipment in use
This set pairs the measuring instrument with a separate sample holder and its brush. Choose it when both the hydrometer and jar are missing, rather than buying the standalone jar that excludes the meter. A sampling thief is still a separate tool if you need one to draw liquid from the fermenter.
The selected offer declares specific gravity0.990–1.170, Brix/Balling 0–35 and potential alcohol 0–22%. The three scales serve fermentation testing; potential alcohol is not a direct reading of finished beverage strength. Record the initial and later density readings for an appropriate alcohol estimate.
The jar is specified as borosilicate 3.3 glass and has a protective ring. The maker’s approximately 125 mL sample guidance describes the working amount with the recommended hydrometer, not a certified maximum volume. Allow the instrument to float without touching the sides or bottom.
The package includes a brush, cloth, instruction sheet and protective storage for the glass instrument. The brush reaches the narrow jar for cleaning, and the maker directs washing and sanitizing before testing. Compare a standalone instrument or jar if the other components are already in your setup.

Keep potential-alcohol scale, graduation spacing and an accuracy guarantee separate.
Wash and sanitize testing equipment before use, as the maker directs.
Lower the hydrometer gently and keep it from striking the glass jar bottom, following the maker’s testing instructions.

Questions about this product
This selected kit already includes a glass jar. Compare the standalone jar when replacing only that component.
No sampling thief is listed in this kit. Choose a suitable sampler separately if the vessel requires one.
No. It is a brewing reference. A final alcohol estimate needs appropriate initial and later readings and an applicable method.
