The equipment in use
This is the sample vessel and its cleaning accessories, rather than a complete measuring kit. The selected supply includes the borosilicate glass jar, brush, protective ring, cloth and instructions. Choose it when you already own a suitable hydrometer and want a clear glass holder for the reading.
The maker’s instructions describe using about 120–130 mL with its recommended hydrometer so the instrument can float. That is a working sample amount, not the jar’s calibrated maximum capacity or a guarantee for every meter. Check that your own hydrometer floats without touching the wall or bottom.
The selected jar is specified as borosilicate 3.3 glass, with a 12.5 in height and 2.5 in base width. The clear, ungraduated tube leaves the instrument’s scale visible; the base width is not its internal bore. The blue ring is a protective accessory, not a promise that the glass cannot break.
The supplied brush gives access to the narrow tube for cleaning. Brewing America directs washing and sanitizing testing equipment before taking a sample. Compare the plastic jar if holder material is your main decision, or a complete sampling kit if the hydrometer and thief are also missing.

Before and during use
Check free-floating clearance with your actual hydrometer; base width is not usable tube diameter.
Treat the approximately 125 mL figure as sample guidance, not certified volumetric capacity.
The maker directs washing and sanitizing testing equipment before sampling. Use the supplied brush for access to the tube; no chemical dose or dishwasher cycle is specified here.

No. That measurement is the support base. The instrument must fit inside the tube and float freely, with its actual bulb and stem clear of the walls.
The tube is ungraduated. The sample amount is working guidance for a hydrometer reading, not a certified volume measurement.
Yes. This selected package contains the jar and accessories, and expressly excludes a hydrometer.
