This replacement is for the oversized airlock used with the appropriate Speidel plastic-tank connection. The clear outer chamber and removable hood form a different assembly from a small S-shaped airlock. Choose it to replace that dedicated vent component rather than assuming a generic airlock has the same stem.
The selected listing specifies an airlock height of 5-3/8 in and outer diameter of 2-7/8 in. Its stem is listed as 23/32 in outside diameter and 9/16 in inside diameter. The outside stem dimension is the relevant comparison at the stopper connection; the inside bore describes a different part of the passage.
The matching dealer reference is FE781, and the stopper is sold separately. If your existing airlock is intact but its drilled stopper is worn or missing, compare FE780 instead. That distinction lets you replace the part you need without mistaking an airlock photograph for a complete lid-and-stopper package.
Plan clearance around the installed assembly, including the actual stopper and lid. The airlock’s own height is not the complete height above every fermenter. No gas-flow rate, pressure-reading function or compatibility with every drilled rubber bung is established by the oversized format.

Can a cap or float from a small three-piece airlock replace this hood?
No interchangeable spare-part fit is documented. FE781 is the oversized chamber-and-hood assembly; use components identified for that assembly instead of mixing parts by appearance.
